I joined Sennheiser UK in 1993 when there were just around 22 employees. Paul was Sales Manager and shortly afterwards General Manager. From when Paul took over it was very much a team and as others have described, hard work with a lot of fun along the way.
Paul delighted in giving me some interesting tasks over the years such as going to Swarowski and blagging some crystals to put on the tables at an event to be held at the Cafe Royal, Golf Days, Sales Meetings and Sennheiser Group meetings, one of these was a walking Jack the Ripper tour in the evening only to find out the Europeans had no idea who Jack the Ripper was. The Golf Days were Paul's favourite and we always had good weather so the evening was spent with everyone glowing. Lots of money was raised in aid of different charities over the years.
Working for Paul was never dull and I have some great memories from 13 years.
I knew your daughters from when they were in single figures, now both married with families of their own. You were always a very strong family man and nothing was too much for them. They will all miss you terribly and I send my condolences and thoughts to them at this awful time.
Paul gave us his instructions, pin lit tables, everything blue (in a room that was red and cream), and when people walked in they had to say WOW. Delta did the sound and lighting and we managed to achieve what we thought might be impossible. Paul brought out the best In us. All fine with me John.
I remember that party at Cafe Royal, it was an amazing night, the place looked dazzling when you first walked in. For me it was also a bit of a surreal experience. I was still working for Keith at the time, but only Paul and I knew that I would be joining Sennheiser.
